Chapman — 60 years

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Chapman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 19, 2013.

Raymond C. Chapman and Bobbie C. Clark were united in marriage on Sept. 19, 1953, in Rockwall.

Mr. Chapman served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and he later served two tours in the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class in October 1975, after 22 years of service. From 1975 to 1991, he served as a police officer in Copperas Cove and Lampasas. He retired in June 1991 from the Lampasas Police Department and then worked three years for the Lampasas Sheriff’s Office.

Mrs. Chapman is a dedicated homemaker and active in the local community. She volunteers at local nursing homes and participates in activities through their church. She devotes her time to her family.

They have lived in the Kempner area since April 1972, and are both active members of Kempner Oak Hill Baptist Church.

They have five children: Cyndi and Jim Imhoff, Darren Chapman, Greg and Debbie Chapman, the late Lorne Chapman and the late Doug Chapman, all of Kempner; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
