Domenic and Dorothy D’Alessio of Killeen celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and close friends. A surprise reception was hosted by their children at the Texas Land and Cattle Steak House in Killeen.

Domenic Anthony and Dorothy Genell Arms were united in marriage on Sept. 23, 1952, in the home of the bride’s parents in Cedar Hill, Tenn. The couple met when he was serving with the 74th Army Band at Fort Campbell, Ky. They have lived in the local area for more than 45 years.

Mr. D’Alessio, originally from East Liberty, Pittsburgh, Pa., served in the Pa. National Guard when he was 16. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1947 at age 17. He served honorably until his retirement at Fort Hood in 1969 and subsequently from F.W. Woolworth Co. He also worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Hood for more than 10 years.

Mrs. D’Alessio is originally from Cedar Hill, Tenn. As a stay-at-home mom, family has always been foremost in her life and she continues to be a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

The couple’s three children and their spouses are, Domenic A. “Tony” Jr. and Kelly A. D’Alessio of Tuscola; S. Nicklaus “Nick” and Darlene D’Alessio of Round Rock, and A. Nichole and Mark E. Willoughby Sr. of Bastrop.

They have seven grandchildren.
