  • Bill And Rose Minton

Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Bill and Rose Minton of Copperas Cove celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 24 with a reception at Grace United Methodist in Copperas Cove hosted by their children and attended by close friends and family.

The couple was united in marriage on May 22, 1964, in Nuremberg, Germany.

Mr. Minton retired after serving in the U.S. Army for 26 years and as a JROTC teacher for 15 years. Mrs. Minton retired as an insurance secretary after 22 years.

Their children are Thomas, of Dallas, and Robert and his wife, Sharon, of Clarksville, Tenn. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Petco awards grant to Killeen Animal Services

Killeen Animal Services announced Wednesday it has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support funding that will be used to aid the Killeen shelter’s ongoing spay and neuter program and the care of animals that can be entered into the adoption program.
