Retired Chief Warrant Officer-3 George and Evelyn Morton of Harker Heights recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a dinner party at the Fort Hood Officers’ Club.

Evelyn Marsh and George Morton were united in marriage on July 3, 1973, in Greensboro, N.C.

Mr. Morton is retired from the U.S. Army and the city of Houston.

Their children are Marva Askew of Killeen, Michael Free of Columbia, S.C., Larry Free of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Deirdra Wynn of Greensboro, N.C.

They have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services and the Texas Education Agency will conduct a series of listening sessions in Texas during the week of Dec. 12, according to a news release from the Department of Education.
