Sayler — 50 years

Doris Mae Parmer Sayler and Eugene Stanley Sayler celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 4.

They were married on June 4, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Nolanville. William Ray Parmer, brother of the bride, performed the wedding ceremony.

They were honored with a birthday luncheon in Round Rock, hosted by their daughter, Debra Mae Sayler Powell and her husband, Tim Powell, and their granddaughter, Jordan Leigh Powell. Others attending the celebration were her brother, Charlie Dean Parmer, and her sister, Marie Parmer.

CTC Foundation accepting scholarship applications

The Central Texas College Foundation is accepting applications online for scholarships to be awarded for the fall and spring 2018 semesters. Students can apply online through March 31. The scholarships will be awarded near the end of this spring semester.

Judge blocks Texas cutting Medicaid to Planned Parenthood

AUSTIN — A federal judge ruled Tuesday that Texas can’t cut off Medicaid dollars to Planned Parenthood over secretly recorded videos taken by anti-abortion activists in 2015 that launched Republican efforts across the U.S. to defund the nation’s largest abortion provider.
