Monica and John Brewer of Killeen welcomed a son, Jayson Allen Brewer, 7 pounds, 7 ounces, on Jan. 10 at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood.

Jayson’s siblings are Samson, 3 and Maxwell, 2.

Heather (Richardson) Lewis and Jason Lewis of Fort Hood welcomed a daughter, McKenna Lewis, 6 pounds, 7 ounces, on Jan. 15 at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood.

McKenna’s siblings are Rachel, 13, and Keira, 12.

Her grandparents are Michael and Valerie Lewis of Scottsville, N.Y. and Joseph and Karen Richardson of Rochester, N.Y.

The Central Texas College Alumni Association will host its first-ever Alumni of Distinction reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in the Anderson Campus Center (Building 156) The free event is open to the public.

Petco awards grant to Killeen Animal Services

Killeen Animal Services announced Wednesday it has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support funding that will be used to aid the Killeen shelter’s ongoing spay and neuter program and the care of animals that can be entered into the adoption program.
