Amanda Leigh Carpenter and Jonathan Foster Massey were united in marriage on June 15, 2013, at the Peacock River Ranch in Gatesville. The bride was given in marriage by her parents in a ceremony officiated by Elder Bill Kneip.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Vickie Carpenter of Temple. She is a 2008 graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. She is a first-grade teacher at Saegert Elementary School in Killeen.

The groom is the son of Bob and Dianne Massey of Harker Heights. He is currently attending Texas A&M-Central Texas. He is an instructional technology assistant at South Belton Middle School in Belton.

The maid of honor was Callie McJunkin of Killeen. The bridesmaids were Wendy Moomaw of Harker Heights and Jena Elgin of Belton.

The best man was Daniel Kneip of Haymarket, Va. The groomsmen and women were Donna Bownds of Belton and Maury Washington of Nolanville.

The flower girls were Catherine Corley of Dallas, Elizabeth Corley of Dallas and Liliana Kneip of Haymarket, Va.

A reception followed at the Stoneridge at Peacock River Ranch in Gatesville. Music for the ceremony and reception was provided by Rashid Al-Mulaheed.

The couple plans a wedding trip to San Diego, Calif. They reside in Killeen.

The Central Texas College Alumni Association will host its first-ever Alumni of Distinction reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in the Anderson Campus Center (Building 156) The free event is open to the public.

Petco awards grant to Killeen Animal Services

Killeen Animal Services announced Wednesday it has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support funding that will be used to aid the Killeen shelter’s ongoing spay and neuter program and the care of animals that can be entered into the adoption program.
