Reaching Out series ends with thank you to all

Editor’s note: For the past year, the reporters at the Killeen Daily Herald have provided our readers a glimpse of the individuals who tirelessly volunteer in our communities — from Lampasas to Belton, Gatesville, Temple, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove and Killeen — through a series called Reaching Out, which ran in each Monday’s edition of the paper, and live online at kdhnews.com/reaching_out.

Thirty-eight organizations and 44 volunteers of all ages have been highlighted, and the Herald would like to recognize each one, thank all volunteers for their generous service, and encourage you, our readers, to reach out into your community and make a difference.

Mission offering free holiday meal to those in need

Jesus Hope & Love Homeless Mission is offering a free Christmas Day meal for those in need from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at 818 N. Fourth St., behind H-E-B, downtown Killeen.
