New vehicle sales in Bell County were down in June compared to the same month last year, and the year-to-date numbers are still trailing, according to the latest monthly auto sales report from the Freeman Auto Group.

Last month, 1,542 vehicles were sold in Bell County, compared to 1,740 vehicles sold in June 2016, an 11.38 percent decrease in sales.

Coryell County dealerships sold 81 vehicles in June, compared to 100 sales in June of last year.

There have been 8,662 vehicles sold from Jan. 1 through June this year in Bell County. Compared to 9,253 vehicles sold during the same time frame last year, this amounts to a 6.39 percent decrease in year-to-date sales.

Coryell County dealers have sold 523 vehicles through June this year, resulting in a 9.52 percent decrease from last year’s total of 578.

The most popular vehicles in Bell County in June, based on new-vehicle registrations, were Fords: a combined total of 208 new Ford vehicles were sold, between cars and trucks. Other top sellers were Toyota cars with 161 units sold, Nissan cars with 155 units sold and Honda cars with 134 units sold.

The most popular vehicles in Coryell County in June were Chevrolet trucks with 13 units sold. Other top sellers were Ram trucks with 11 units sold and Chevrolet cars with 10 units sold.
