USAA makes World’s Most Admired Companies list
USAA was named to the World’s Most Admired Companies list, a report card on worldwide corporate reputations covering 57 industries and about 1,400 companies.
FORTUNE magazine only ranks the top 50 “All Stars.” Newly named companies like USAA aren’t eligible for the top 50, but USAA ranked No. 3 among the list of 17 eligible property and casualty insurance companies.
USAA scored the second highest in five of the nine criteria used to evaluate a company’s reputation: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, quality of management and quality of products and services.
Resource center plans entrepreneur class
The Central Texas Business Resource Center will have a three-hour workshop on entrepreneurship at 9 a.m. Thursday at 300 Cheyenne in Killeen.
Attendees will be introduced to entrepreneurship under the current economic conditions and begin the planning process by identifying potential business ideas and determining the research needed for business viability.

Killeen chamber offers builders academy
The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce will conduct its March Business Builder Academy from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at One Santa Fe Plaza.
Attendees will learn how to build their own websites. Jonathan Packer, the chamber’s senior vice president of business development, will share resources for developing professional and cost-effective websites without having to hire a Web developer.
The course is free for Business Builders, Leadership members and Killeen 2.0 Investors, and $50 for other members and the public. Lunch will be provided.

Cove chamber and EDC plan Lunch-N-Learn

Jim Wright Company, Killeen’s largest property management company, upgraded several software programs and websites to improve customer service to property owners and renters.
The software allows owners to immediately access information about their property, such as pictures, financial information and current status at anytime.
A new website also is in the process of being launched. The site will enhance the company’s online presence and make it easier and quicker to find and navigate.
