Shilo Inn to host Killeen chamber mixer Thursday

The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce will have its monthly member mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Shilo Inn, this month’s host.

Members can meet and mingle. There will be gumbo, jambalaya and a cash bar. No RSVP is required.

The Shilo Inn is at 3701 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

Young professionals hold luncheon Thursday

The Greater Killeen Young Professionals will have their monthly business luncheon at the Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, 300 Cheyenne Drive in Killeen, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

It provides young professionals an opportunity to connect with and learn from area business and civic leaders while meeting and networking with each other.

No RSVP is required. It’s free for members of the young professionals and $5 for nonmembers.

Business Resource Center conducts summit

The Central Texas Business Resource Center is hosting a resource summit for community businesses and entrepreneurs at its office.

It will provide entrepreneurs the opportunity to interact with bankers, marketers, lawyers, accountants, insurance agents and other resources necessary to start or grow their businesses.

The summit will be at 300 Cheyenne Drive in Killeen from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Vista College offers its first online bachelor’s degree

Vista College announced last week an additional online bachelor’s degree in business management — the first bachelor’s degree offered through the institution.

Enrollment began Nov. 8 for classes, which start Jan. 6.

The program will provide students with knowledge of the fundamental disciplines of management, accounting, economics, finance, project management, computer information systems and marketing.

Vista College offers a wide variety of career training programs throughout Texas and New Mexico and online.

Heights chamber plans Christmas drive

The Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce is participating in the Santa Pal Program, which provides Christmas meals and toys for children.

Small business workshop in Cove

The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation and the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce will host a small business workshop from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Copperas Cove Public Library, 501 S. Main St.

AAF-Central Texas gift exchange set for Dec. 6 at Taiwan Dragon

The annual AAF-Central Texas Gift Exchange and Public Service Drive is Dec. 6 at Taiwan Dragon in Killeen. To participate, bring a wrapped surprise (under $15). Ideas include lottery tickets, games, gift cards and holiday decor.

Help this year’s chosen charity, Camo Santa. Bring a new, unwrapped gift for children ages 9-17.

The meeting is from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Taiwan Dragon, 308 E. Avenue G in downtown Killeen.

Cost: $15 for members and students, $25 for nonmembers.

National company gives recognition to area Realtor

EXIT Realty Corp. International recognized J’Neka Morrison, an agent with EXIT Homevets Realty in Killeen, with a Bronze Award earlier this month. The award was given in recognition of achieving 25 plus closing transactions from July 1, 2012, to June 30.
