AAF-Central Texas plans gift exchange, public service drive

American Advertising Federation of Central Texas’ annual Gift Exchange and Public Service Drive will start at 11:45 a.m. Friday at Taiwan Dragon, 308 E. Avenue G, Killeen.

The organization will collect donations for Camo Santa and is requesting new, unwrapped gifts for children ages 9-17.

To participate in the gift exchange, bring a wrapped present, costing less than $15.

The cost of the event is $15 for members and students, $25 for nonmembers.

Register for the event by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Seating is limited.

Killeen chamber offers monthly networking power hour Friday

The Killeen Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly networking power hour from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Workforce Solutions of Central Texas building, 300 Cheyenne Drive, Killeen.

The event is similar to speed dating for businesses and is designed to introduce a person to 50 new business contacts in 60 minutes.

It is free for chamber members, $20 for nonmembers. Lunch is provided.

Each person should bring 51 business cards.

Registration is required and must be done at least one day in advance.

Young professionals gather for networking opportunity

The Greater Killeen Young Professionals will have its monthly networking social at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Vive Les Arts Theatre in Killeen.

The event gives young professionals a chance to meet, network, and form lasting personal and professional relationships in a relaxed, social setting.

This month’s social is the annual charity fundraiser for the local Court Appointed Special Advocates for children.

The group requests those attending bring a gift card, monetary donation or a gift of a new, unwrapped toy costing at least $10.

Cove chamber seeks donated items for Rainbow Room

The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are collecting donations for the Coryell County Rainbow Room from Dec. 2-6 at the National Banks of Central Texas, 408 S. Main St., Copperas Cove.

The donations are for children ages 1-11.

Items must be new. The chamber suggests the following donations: disposable diapers/baby wipes, blankets, winter coats, convertible car seats, socks, all sizes of clothing, all sizes of shoes, scarves/hats, toddler beds, teddy bears, trucks, dolls, underwear, tennis shoes, shampoo and gift cards.

The Rainbow Room is an emergency resource center available to Coryell County Child Protective Services case workers to help them meet the critical needs of abused and neglected children.

Copperas Cove Krist Kindl Markt opens Friday

The annual Copperas Cove Krist Kindl Markt will be open Friday and end Sunday.

The event brings a variety of vendors to downtown Copperas Cove, Avenue E, for holiday shopping.

Hours for the market are from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Heights Chamber Ambassadors schedule meeting, holiday party

The Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will meet for a holiday party between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The event will be at Taqueria Mexico No. 3, 526 E. Farm-to-Market 2410, Harker Heights.

Salado Christmas Stroll kicks off Friday, ends next weekend

The Salado Christmas Stroll is Friday through Sunday, and Dec. 13-15.

The event features holiday shopping throughout the town.

The first weekend includes the historical society’s Tour of Homes.

There will be a live nativity and presentations of “A Christmas Carol” at Tablerock Ampitheater on both weekends.
