Mattress Firm opens store in Killeen

Mattress Firm opened a Killeen store at 3007 E. Central Texas Expressway, Suite A.

The new store is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“We are thrilled to be opening a new location in Killeen and look forward to offering our customers the same great shopping experience they have come to expect at our other locations throughout Texas,” said Steve Stagner, Mattress Firm’s CEO, in a news release.

Long Branch Storage adds U-Haul rentals

Long Branch Storage, 4601 E. Rancier Ave. in Killeen, recently added U-Haul truck and trailer rentals.

The business now offers customers a variety of moving equipment and supplies designed specifically for moving household furnishings, including moving vans, open trailers, closed trailers, furniture pads, appliance dollies, furniture dollies, tow dollies and auto transports, according to a news release.

Long Branch Storage also will offer sales items to protect customers’ belongings and make moving easier, such as heavy-duty boxes, which are made of up to 90 percent recycled content and are available in a variety of sizes, the release stated.

The business is open operation from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Small-business workshops planned

The Business Resource Center plans the following seminars during October:

Business Plan Basics from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday: This workshop covers a thorough overview of business planning, with a question-and-answer session. A workbook is included. The cost is $25 per person.

Techniques for Promoting Your Business from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 23: This workshop will discuss specifics about how to market a business and budget for related costs. A workbook for preparing a marketing plan is included. The cost is $25 per person.

Basics of Opening a Restaurant from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30: This workshop will discuss the fundamentals and requirements involved in starting a new restaurant business. The cost is $25 per person.
