HARKER HEIGHTS - CEFCO opened a new convenience store in Harker Heights Thursday and plans to offer promotions such as discounted prices on gasoline and free car washes.
A thousand customers also will get a free mug that entitles them to free refills on any coffee, tea, fountain drink or frozen carbonated beverage until Sept. 15.
Christine Radley, communications manager for CEFCO stores, said the opening had a big turnout from motorists.
"Already today we've had more visitors in under five hours than during a normal 24-hour period," she said. "We've had a lot of great feedback already."
According to a news release from CEFCO, the store features an enhanced hot beverage section, as well as 60 varieties of craft and imported beers along with a full assortment of wine.
"Our customers are very particular about how they spend their hard-earned money. We believe that they deserve a great value on top quality products," said Brian Matlock, director of food service at CEFCO, in a statement.
The new CEFCO store is at 500 W. Farm-to-Market 2410 in Harker Heights, across from the city's post office.
The Temple-based company operates 123 stores throughout Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, employing more than 1,350 people.
