Home builders started 36 residences in Killeen, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove and Nolanville last week. Total construction costs are estimated at about $5 million.
Killeen issued permits for 23 single-family dwellings and three multifamily dwellings between March 21 and Thursday. The estimated cost of the projects was about $3.2 million. The homes ranged from $89,000 to $207,000.
Aston Homes and DR Horton received the majority of the Killeen single-family home permits with homes being built on Cottonpatch Drive, Rusack Drive, Loma Gaile Lane, Mustang Creek Road, Adeel Drive, Clear Brook Drive, Katy Creek Lane and Parkmill Lane.
The city issued the multifamily permits to Yellow Lilly Inc. for residences on Loyal Lane.
Copperas Cove issued five construction permits to Manning Homes and Silverado Homes. The companies are building residences on Jonathan Lane, and Horizon and Plains streets.
The projects cost about $649,000 with homes ranging between $121,000 and $158,000.
Nolanville granted four construction permits for homes to Vale Building Group, Carothers Executive Homes and Eagle Ridge Builders.
The residences are being built on Chimney Hill Drive, Bella Charca Parkway and Sweet Gum Court. Their construction costs are estimated between $160,000 and $299,000 with the projects costing about $900,000 total.
Harker Heights issued one permit for a $256,000 home on Terra Cotta Court to DR Horton.
Killeen issued two commercial construction permits for properties at 4103 Zephyr Road, Building B, and 105 W. Stan Schlueter Loop.
The Zephyr property will be a 4,000-square-foot religious facility. The contractor, Reding Construction, estimated the cost at $282,000.
Gunn General Contracting will build a 8,414-square-foot, $365,000 structure on West Stan Schlueter Loop. The builder couldn’t be reached by deadline Monday.
