Central Texas College announced the employees of the year for the Central, Fort Hood and Service Area campuses at its annual awards ceremony Dec. 13.

The college also recognized the Navy, Continental and Pacific Far East campus employees of the year; the department of the year; and students’ choice for teacher of the year. It also presented the Central Texas College Foundation Employee Alumnus award. Chancellor Thomas Klincar presented the Chancellor’s Award.

The employees of the year recipients are as follows:

FORT HOOD AND SERVICE AREA CAMPUS: Eva Garcia, site representative for student records; and Josephine Shipman, office specialist II for the student services department.

NAVY CAMPUS: Betsy Good, distance learning manager at the Navy College Program for Afloat College Education; Tiffany Jones, site administration for testing at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego.

CONTINENTAL CAMPUS: Lisa Binger, site director at Fort Benning, Ga.; and Ashley Williams, site registrar at Fort Sill, Okla.

PACIFIC FAR EAST CAMPUS: Edwina Barr, marketing and training coordinator; and Kerry Harvey, field adviser at Camp Zama, Japan.

CENTRAL CAMPUS: Ronnie Turner, professor of welding in the industrial technology department; Scott Sumner, producer educator for Mayborn Science Theater; Barbara Ferguson, office assistant I for adult education department; and Melissa Van Blaricum, a clerk III of records and registration.

CENTRAL TEXAS COLLEGE FOUNDATION ALUMNUS AWARD: Tina Ady, the dean for Fort Hood and service area campuses.

STUDENT CHOICE AWARD: Florence Culp, professor in the Developmental Math Department.

DEPARTMENT OF THE YEAR: Developmental Studies


20-YEAR SERVICE AWARD: Delores Williams, clinical coordinator/professor in the ADN nursing program.
