A Dallas-based contractor for In-N-Out Burger last week began the demolition of an old strip center to make way for the popular California-based eatery.
Panterra Construction received a permit to demolish the building at 2501 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen on Wednesday, according to a city permit report.
In-N-Out took over the property in March. Several of the previous business tenants relocated to new retail sites in Killeen and Harker Heights.
Representatives from In-N-Out have not given dates for when the burger restaurant would open but said construction can take between four and five months.
Panterra Construction representatives were not available to discuss the project on Monday, but the company’s website does list In-N-Out among its previous projects.
