February was a slightly slower month for new car and truck sales in Bell and Coryell counties when compared to January, but dealerships in Central Texas still sold more than 1,000 cars and trucks in February, according to the Freeman Auto Report.

According to the report, Bell County dealerships sold 1,230 vehicles in February, down just two vehicles from the same period in 2016. Coryell County dealerships sold 75 vehicles in February, a decrease of 12 sales compared to February 2016.

Bell County dealerships in February sold more than double the amount of domestic cars, 747, than they did domestic trucks, 307. Coryell County dealers sold four more domestic trucks, 37, than domestic cars, 33, according to the report.

The most popular vehicles in Bell County in February were Ford cars: 132 were sold in February. Other top sellers were Chevrolet cars, with 119 sold; and Toyota cars, with 93 sold.

Coryell County purchasers preferred Ram trucks, buying 18 in February.
