HARKER HEIGHTS — The contractor for a dialysis center under construction in Harker Heights was issued another permit last week to finish out the estimated $1.1 million facility.

The city issued a second permit to Waco-based Mazanec Construction Company for the construction of the 13,958-square-foot building at 625 W. Central Texas Expressway, according to a Harker Heights report.

The building is proposed to be a dialysis and vascular care center operated by Fresenius Medical Care, according to the contractor’s website.

Fresenius Medical Care is the leading network for dialysis care with more than 2,100 facilities in North America and vascular access centers, laboratories, pharmacies and affiliated hospitals and nephrology practices, according to the Fresenius website.

Employing about 55,000 people in the United States, Fresenius claims to be North America’s top producer of dialysis equipment, dialyzers and related disposable products and a major supplier of renal pharmaceuticals.

The city of Killeen issued several finish-out construction permits to Hitech Upscale Builders of Pflugerville, Shanondoah Homes of Killeen and Angler Retail Construction of Springs.

The commercial contractors are working on improvements to properties at 1600 Lowes Blvd., Suite 800; 4103 W. Stan Schlueter Loop, Suites 200 and 100; and 2202 S. W.S. Young Drive, Suite 101.

The total estimated cost of the Killeen projects is $404,700.

Residential construction

Killeen issued several residential construction permits to Fort Worth-based DR Horton, Killeen-based B&W Construction, Belton-based Bell County Victory Homes and Austin-based Ashton Austin Residential. Construction of single-family residences will take place on Siltone Loop, Dodge City Drive, Tara Drive and Generations Drive.

The homes range from $106,000 to $184,000, resulting in about $610,000 in additional property value.

Purser Homes, of Killeen, received two duplex construction permits. The residences will be built on Lineage Loop in Killeen for a combined cost of $306,728

Harker Heights issued a single-family home construction permit to DR Horton for a $225,684 home on High Ridge Trail. A duplex permit was issued to Michael Schwartz for a multifamily residence to be built on Wildewood for $130,000.

Nolanville issued a permit for a single-family home on Bell Charca Parkway, with an estimated cost of $250,000.

Copperas Cove construction permits were not available Monday.
