Heights H-E-B expanding parking lot

Harker Heights issued a permit to expand the H-E-B parking lot and Killeen issued permits for a new church and store. San Antonio-based Joeris General Contractors will be handling an estimated $385,000 construction job to expand the Harker Heights grocery store’s parking lot, according to a report from the city.

The permit was issued on Thursday, but the report didn’t state how much additional room would be added to the parking lot.

In Killeen, contractors were issued permits for the construction of two larger than 4,000-square feet facilities. One is a church or religious building, which is being constructed by Killeen-based Reding Construction Inc., a Killeen report stated. The work has an estimated cost of $282,000 and is being done at 4103 Zephyr Road. The second building, a proposed $226,000 store space, will be built at 4103 W. Stan Schlueter Loop, the report stated. Killeen-based Shanondoah Homes was issued the permit for the construction site.

Copperas Cove didn’t issue any commercial construction permits between Nov. 15 and Thursday.

Housing permits

Killeen issued 16 single-family-home construction permits in the same time period. The new homes’ construction cost ranged in value between $114,000 and $250,000.

Six permits were issued to Killeen-based Purser Homes for work on Sands and Natural Lanes. Killeen-based All Star Homes is building four of the new homes on Gemini Lane. Harker Heights-based Carothers Homes was issued permits for three homes on Legacy Lane. Harker Heights-based Jubilee Homes was issued two permits for two homes on Siltstone Loop, and Killeen-based Cameo Homes got a permit for a new single-family dwelling on Ramhorn Court.

Copperas Cove issued two permits for constructing homes. The homes ranged in price from $132,000 to $137,000. A home at Dalton Street is being built by Kempner-based Dan Battreal Builders and a home on Horizon Street is being built by Cove-based Jerry Wright Homes.

One new home permit was issued in Harker Heights, according to the city. Fort Worth-based DR Horton is building the home on Rocky Ridge Trail, which has an estimated construction cost of $202,000.

    Would be nice if HEB in Harker Heights expanded the store too.
    Offer more of a selection of products like they have at Central Market.
