Home builders are erecting almost $3 million in new single-family dwellings after the city issued construction permits last week.
According to a city report, Killeen granted 23 construction permits for new homes on Uvero Alto Drive, Mustang Creek Road, Parkmill Drive, Gemini Lane, Greyfriar Drive, Hector Drive, Orion Drive, Siltstone Loop, Libra Drive and Sands Lane.
Ten of the homes are being constructed on Gemini Lane by Harker Heights-based All Star Homes and Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based Centex/PulteHomes.
The homes’ estimated construction cost ranged from $96,000 to $190,000.
Nolanville issued four single-family dwelling permits to Killeen-based Vale Building Group and Temple-based Majestic Homes between March 3 and Friday, a city report stated.
The homes are being constructed on Black Walnut Court, Sugar Maple Court and Dober Street. The estimated construction cost of all the homes was $550,000; they range in price from $125,000 to $150,000.
Copperas Cove issued only one residential construction permit — a $134,000 home on Plains Street. The residence is being constructed by Kempner-based Dan Battreal Builders.
Harker Heights issued one permit for a multifamily dwelling — a $125,000 duplex on Mary Jo Drive.
Nolanville issued a permit for placement of a $5,000 mobile home at Cimarron Park Estates.
None of the cities issued commercial construction permits for new buildings during the week.
