Construction began on homes in Killeen, Harker Heights and Copperas Cove valued at $4.3 million between Jan. 6 and Friday.
Killeen issued 17 permits for single-family homes. Centex Pulte Homes received 10 of the new home construction permits for residences on Gemini Lane, Hercules Avenue, Bowfield Drive, Sandyford Court, Gemstone Drive and Capricorn Loop.
White River Homes, Stylecraft Builders, Vale Building Group and DR Horton also received permits to construct homes on Libra Drive, Mohawk Drive and Andalucia Lane.
With homes ranging in price from $97,000 to $259,000, the estimated total construction cost of building the homes was $2.7 million.
Copperas Cove issued a single-family home permit to Silverado Homes. The $116,000 home is being built on Plateau Street.
The city issued four permits for duplexes to James Herring Custom Homes. All four multifamily dwellings will be built on Summers Road for about $161,000 each. Their total estimated cost is $644,000.
Ashton Woods Homes received two construction permits for single-family homes in Harker Heights. The homes, to be built on Cathedral Court, were valued at $181,000 and $193,000.
Three permits for new duplexes were issued to Jamie Herring Custom Homes for work in Harker Heights. The residences will be built on Yuron and Seminole Trace. Their construction is valued at $140,000 each.
For commercial construction, Killeen issued a remodeling permit for property at 2100 S. W.S. Young Drive, suite 1188. Titan Construction will remodel the site for about $17,700.
In Copperas Cove, Active Construction received a permit for a property at 175 W. U.S. Highway 190, suite 4. The work is valued at $45,000.
Catamount Construction received a permit to finish building the inside of the USAA building in Copperas Cove. The work is valued at $550,000.
