Killeen issues 19 permits for new homes

Reports in Killeen and Copperas Cove show more housing coming to both cities.

Killeen issued 19 permits for new single-family homes between March 14 and Thursday, bringing in about $2.7 million in residential construction projects.

The homes range in value from $94,000 to $220,000.

They are being constructed on Taffinder Lane, Serpentine Road, Greyfriar Drive, Reese Creek Road, Nyla Drive, Vega Lane, Parkmill Drive, Adeel Drive, Siltstone Loop, Fratelli Court, Clear Brook Drive, Uvero Alto Drive, Briscoe Drive and Rockwall Drive.

Contractors that received permits included Fort Worth-based DR Horton, Miami-based Lennar, College Station-based Stylecraft Builders Central Texas, Killeen-based Casa Bonita Ltd., Bloomfield, Mich.-based Centex /Pulte Homes Inc. and Killeen-based Ashford Homes.

Killeen also issued 25 permits for the remodeling of single-family homes in the city.

The 25 projects had an estimated cost of $72,138.

Copperas Cove

In Copperas Cove, two single-family home permits were issued for about $261,000 of new construction projects, a city report stated.

Killeen-based Jim Wright Company is building a $147,000 home at 1512 Indian Camp Trail, and Clear Creek Construction is building a $113,000 home at 3442 Horizon St.

Copperas Cove also issued eight building permits for work on residential homes, mostly for the replacement of windows and doors. About $17,000 of construction work was estimated for the jobs, according to a report.

Killeen also issued three commercial remodeling permits for businesses at 3903 W. Stan Schlueter Loop, 1300 W. Stan Schlueter Loop and 1103 W. Veterans Memorial Blvd. The estimated valued for all the projects was about $11,000.

Harker Heights didn’t issue any commercial or single-family home construction permits during the time period.

The city issued four permits for residential remodeling projects, a Harker Heights report stated. The cost of construction for projects is about $19,000.

Nolanville permits were not available by deadline.
