BIZ - Evergreen Estates

Construction continues on homes in the Evergreen Estates subdivision, Friday, October 18, 2013 in Harker Heights.

Construction projects worth about $3.4 million received permits in Killeen, Harker Heights, Nolanville and Copperas Cove last week.

Killeen issued 15 single-family-home permits between May 2 and Thursday, according to a city report.

Bloomfield, Mich.-based Centex Homes received 12 permits. Seven of the homes will be constructed on Sandyford Court. Miami-based Lennar Homes and Atlanta-based Ashton Homes also were granted permits for residential construction in Killeen.

The value of the Killeen homes ranged from $83,000 to $199,000, totalling about $1.9 million.

Nolanville granted Carother’s Executive Homes of Belton three permits for homes valued between $265,000 and $329,000, totalling about $900,000 in new construction projects. The homes will be built on Harvest and Bald Eagle drives.

Harker Heights issued one single-family and two multifamily construction permits, according to a city report. The duplexes will be built on Ramblewood and Yuron Trace by HR Builders and Killeen-based Rocky Creek Investments. The single-family home will be built on Douglas Fir Drive by Lennar Homes.

Values for the homes ranged between $120,000 and $179,000 for a total of about $474,000.

Copperas Cove issued one residential construction permit to Cove-based Atkison Builders for a $85,000 home on Settlement Drive.

Commercial properties

Killeen issued five commercial remodel or build-out permits for sites at 2100 S. W.S. Young Drive, suite 1420; 1111 Willow Springs Road; 620 S. Fort Hood St., suite B; 903 W. Jasper Drive, suite A; and 612 N. Twin Creek Drive, according to a city report. The total value of the projects is about $350,000.

Copperas Cove issued a $100 commercial remodel permit for a portion of the Town Square shopping center.
