Navy Federal Credit Union held a grand opening of its 250th branch Tuesday at 500 W. Central Texas Expressway in Killeen. Dignitaries attending the event included Navy Federal’s CEO, area mayors and others.

Navy Federal has “experienced tremendous growth in the Killeen area ... (and) now serves over 28,000 members living in the region,” according to a statement from the company.

Navy Federal established its first branch in the Fort Hood area in 2009. The branch celebrated Tuesday is the fourth Navy Federal location between Harker Heights and Copperas Cove.
