Four Central Texas cities approved contractors to build more than 30 homes costing an estimated $5.5 million last week.
Harker Heights issued 20 single-family home construction permits between Jan. 27 and Friday.
Carothers Homes, Lennar, DR Horton, Lackmeyer Homes, A&G Homes and Centex Homes received permits to build the homes, which cost from $140,000 to $286,000. The estimated cost of all the homes is $3.9 million.
The future Harker Heights homes are being constructed on Doc Whitten Drive, Tuscan Road, Cayuga Drive, Douglas Fir Drive, Aztec Trace, Chaucer Lane and Green Meadow Lane.
Killeen issued seven construction permits to Weldon Goodnight Construction, DR Horton, Purser Homes, Stylecraft Builders, Bell County Victory Homes Inc. and Centex Homes.
The home builders are erecting residences at Dodge City Drive, Tanzanite Drive, Sands Lane, Louise Lane, Greyfriar Drive, Tara Drive and Gemini Lane. The homes are valued between $95,000 and $198,000. Their total estimated cost is $1 million.
Copperas Cove issued two permits for new homes.
Precision Value Homes is building a $130,000 residence on Plateau Street, and Jerry Wright Homes is building a $134,000 home on Horizon Street.
Nolanville issued one single-family dwelling permit and two mobile home permits.
Vale Building group received a permit to start work on a $160,000 home on Sugar Maple Court. Palm Harbor Homes and Clayton Homes received permits for a mobile home to be erected on Morning Side Drive. Their values were $72,000 and $60,000.
Killeen issued four commercial remodel permits to Epic Communications, Joel’s Floors and Bluewater Assets. The three business are renovating spaces at 874 S. Fort Hood St., 2811 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., 2901 W. Elms Road and 2300 E. Rancier Ave. Work for the four projects was estimated at $164,000.
