There is not enough space on one page to mention every store in the Killeen area that specializes in foreign goods since there are plenty of places around town for the culturally curious to explore.

Below are descriptions, locations and hours of operation for 10 local stores with international flair.

La Michoacana Meat Market, (254) 793-9284, 1001 W. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen.

Hours of operation: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.

What they offer: Central American groceries, bakery and butcher at affordable prices.

Hard-to-get item: Birria, a spicy Mexican stew.

Pfeifer's German Bakery, (254) 698-0211, 716 Indian Trail, Suite 240, Harker Heights.

Hours of operation: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday; closed Sunday and Monday.

What they do: Authentic German bakery and groceries.

Hard-to-get item: Bauernbrot (German sourdough bread).

Mercado Azteca Meat Market, (254) 519-2247, 202 N. Fort Hood St., Killeen.

Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

What they do: Central American groceries, Mexican style butcher, taqueria.

Hard-to-get item: Meat seasoned with secret recipe.

What they offer: Asian groceries and more.

Hard-to-get item: Fresh Monk Tail from Korea.

Royal Caribbean Food Shop N Tings, (254) 200-2722, 809 N. Second St., Suite 102, Killeen.

Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; closed Sunday.

What they offer: Caribbean items and groceries.

Hard-to-get item: Jerk seasoning.

Aloha & Talofa Mart, (254) 680-5368, 410 W. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen.

Hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; closed Sunday.

What they offer: Polynesian groceries, goods and restaurant.

Hard-to-get item: May's Teri Patties.

Hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

What they offer: Hard-to-find Filipino groceries and goodies.

Hard-to-get item: Likas Papaya Soap.

What they offer: Hispanic grocery store, meat market.

Hard-to-get item: Fresh-baked Pan Dulce.

Inato Turo Turo & Asian Grocery, (254) 200-2377, 5103 S. Fort Hood St., Killeen.

Hours of operation: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; closed Sunday.

What they offer: Asian grocery store specializing in Filipino products.

Hard-to-get item: Pancit/Filipino noodles.
