As spring turns into summer, chances are you have a few projects to start around the house.
Maybe you want to learn how to frost a cake, or get going on new curtains for the guest room.
But if you need a little help getting going, consider downloading Craftsy’s app, which provides access to classes from the online crafting community’s website.
The app has paid and free classes, though you’ll need to sign up for a Craftsy account if any of the paid classes catches your eye.
(For current Craftsy users, keep in mind that not every class from the site is on the mobile app.)
The app is great for some basic instruction, or even just to browse for inspiration.
Free, for Apple’s iOS devices.
Home screen organizer tries to save you some time
Aviate has lofty goals: to make your smartphone as useful as possible.
This home screen organizer aims to sift through the apps on your phone to provide the right app at the right time.
So if there are apps that you need for your morning routine, or ones that you use primarily at work, Aviate will show you those apps at those times of day.
The app is definitely still a beta product — meaning that you shouldn’t expect it to be perfect.
But it does helpfully cycle through apps and brings up logical ones for logical categories, and does save you some time.
The app is in invite-only beta right now, for Android devices, but it should be more widely available before long.
Free, for Android devices.
