Haljohn Inc. is continuing its growth in Killeen. Construction is under way at the intersection of Stan Schlueter Loop and State Highway 195 on the company’s 15th McDonald’s store in the area.
“We’re projected to open on April 7, provided the weather is good,” said Bryna Schulze, operations manager at Haljohn. “So far we are on pace.”
Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce CEO John Crutchfield said the new location is yet another sign investors recognize Killeen’s potential.
“It’s an indicator that there is investor confidence in our area,” he said. “I think investors recognize there is a lot of pent-up demand here.”
The new store comes on the heels of Haljohn’s December remodel of the store at Central Texas Expressway and Stan Schlueter Loop. The new store will have a play area, double-laned drive-thru and the new “Dual Point” ordering system.
“It will look similar to the Clear Creek location, but with a different decor,” Schulze said. “The Killeen area has always been good to us. It’s very evident it’s a growing city.”
