Wimberley provides home, community and inspiration to a remarkable variety of artists, from the internationally acclaimed to emerging talent. Many of these artists will be opening the doors to their creative inner sanctums as part of the Wimberley Valley Art League’s annual studio tour, Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As part the “Fall Into Art” weekend celebrating the arts, twenty outstanding Hill Country artists will open their studios to visitors and collectors. Located in and around Wimberley, these spaces feature fine art and a glimpse into the artist’s creative process, all set in dramatic Hill Country locations. The participating artists work in a full range of media: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, drawing, sculpture, ceramic, assemblages, photography, jewelry, collage and more.  The tour is free of charge and studio maps will be available on the art league’s website prior to the event.

In town, a parallel event is the league’s annual Show and Sale which will display over 400 pieces of art produced by more than 50 artists in the Community Center. It is the perfect opportunity for collectors, interior designers and enthusiasts to find an extraordinary piece of art. The event also extends to Wimberley’s quaint town square which is home to a number of art venues including Bent Tree Gallery, which will host a posthumous show of world-class artist Bob Fowler’s unique work.

Wimberley’s “Fall into Art” weekend is truly an event to remember.
