The Harker Heights Community Garden will be hosting a class on “Insects in the Garden”. The class will be led by the Bell County Master Gardeners Gary Slanga. The class will be on Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 at the Harker Heights Activities Center, 400 Indian Trail from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
A fruitful garden requires good management of insects in your garden. It is very beneficial to include frequent inspection of the garden to prevent and diagnose complications that are in the early stages that way you can catch what is wrong, get rid of the unnecessary critters, and produce healthier plants. The problem is knowing how to distinguish the good insects from the bad, and knowing which pests are causing the damage to your plants.
The Insects in the Garden class is very beneficial for citizens to attend because they will learn how to classify, fare with, regulate, and prevent ruthless insects. With this knowledge citizens can yield an improved, ample harvest.
