Classical guitarist and composer John Pinno, from Temple, will present three recitals in the central Texas area in October and November. Included on the program are works for solo classical guitar, duos with his wife, Mary Evelyn Pinno, flautist, and a three movement work composed by Mr. Pinno for flute, violin, and guitar, with Marie Smith, violin.
Mr. Pinno has been a college classical guitar instructor for over 35 years, and teaches classical guitar at Temple College and Central Texas College.
The recitals are on Saturday October 19th at 7:30PM at the Cultural Activities Center, 3011 N. 3rd Street in Temple, on Friday November 1st at the Blackerby Violin Shop Concert Hall, 1111 W. Anderson Lane in Austin at 7:30PM, and on Sunday November 3rd at 7:00PM at the Chapel at Caliber Oak, 5235 Royal Street east of Salado.
On the program are works by Pinno, Barrios, Smith-Brindle, Sor, Elgar, Moore, Mendelssohn, Desporrtes, and Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
The recitals in Temple and Austin are $15 at the door, and the recital in Salado will be $25. A portion of each Salado admission will go to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
