Copperas Cove Junior High evacuated, students dismissed

The Copperas Cove Junior High school is being evacuated this morning due to a bomb threat, according to information released on the district's Facebook page.

Students are being dismissed from Bulldawg Stadium at 10 a.m. Parents may pick up their children on the visitor's side main gate of Bulldawg Stadium.

Bus riders will be transported.

This is the fifth reported bomb threat in five consecutive school days. On Friday, the district called for a safety information meeting to be held at 7 p.m. today at the Copperas Cove Civic Center.

Unaccompanied World War II-era vet to be buried Monday

The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery will conduct an unaccompanied veteran burial at 2 p.m. Monday for Sgt. Ellis Ratliff, 89, a U.S. Army-Air Force veteran. The Central Texas community is invited to the ceremony.
