Killeen and Fort Hood residents will be able to watch a previously-held segment by news magazine show "NOW" tonight at 8 p.m. on local PBS station KNCT TV.

The segment, "Sway the Course," considers how the war will influence voters on Election Day. Interviews of Killeen and Fort Hood residents will be featured, as well as interviews with 31st Congressional District candidates, Democrat nominee Mary Beth Harrell and her incum-bent Republican opponent, Congressman John Cater.

The episode of "NOW" had originally been slated for 7:30 p.m. Friday, but was held because KNCT personnel were not able to preview it before that time.

CTC spokesperson Barbara Merlo said Saturday that KNCT general manager Max Rudolph and CTC Chancellor James Anderson wanted to preview the show to make sure it was "balanced and fair." Merlo said Monday that Anderson had an opportunity to view it on the Internet

Sunday, and therefore KNCT was able to announce its new slot at 8 p.m. tonight.

Harrell said she received a call from Anderson around 1 p.m. Sunday, who told her the show would air tonight.

"I'm just delighted because our soldiers and family members and the Fort Hood community deserve to view this program," Harrell said Monday.

Harrell had spoken out against KNCT Saturday, threatening a formal complaint with the Federal Communications Commission if the show was not aired before Tuesday.

Harrell said now that the station has complied, there will be no action taken against it.
