Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation is developing a resource team to mentor patrons of the future Entrepreneur Center, a business incubator.

The team will be made up of professionals who can address issues about operating a business, said Diane Drussell, the EDC’s business retention specialist.

“A resource team is a group that will do some of the workshops for those who want to locate in the center,” she said. “They will be people who are experts in their fields.”

Accountants, bankers, insurance agents, lawyers, marketing and advertising representatives and other professionals will have spots on the resource team.

Patrons won’t be required to consult the team, but it will be available when needed.

Drussell said she already secured bankers, insurance agents, marketing partners, and business consultants. Other professionals will be added to the team before the center opens in June or July.

The incubator will provide offices to entrepreneurs for a reasonable cost.

The center will be located at 207 S. Third St., and house four offices and a meeting room.

shared space, resources

Because it will be shared space and offer shared resources, such as printers and administrative assistant services, the site will be less expensive than renting independent offices.

The EDC hopes to support professional operations such as accountants, marketers, architects, engineers and insurance agents.

Some businesses, such as landscape architects, wouldn’t be a good fit for the location because there will be no place to house equipment, Drussell said.

Applications for the center should be available in March, Drussell said.
