A company with an ambitious growth schedule is coming to Copperas Cove.

McAlister’s Deli, a leading fast casual chain, will open its doors in Thursday at 10:30 a.m., at 232 Robert Griffin III Blvd., suite 100.

McAlister’s is known for its handcrafted sandwiches, fresh salads, giant stuffed potatoes, and sweet tea. The restaurant is one of 10 scheduled to open in 2017 from The Saxton Group LLC from the Dallas area.

The franchise group owns and operates 73 restaurants throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri.

McAlister’s Deli here will be The Saxton Group’s eighth of 10 new restaurants scheduled to open in 2017.

The company plans to expand to the north with franchises in Nebraska and Iowa.

“We have operated in Killeen for over 10 years. Over time, so many residents in Copperas Cove have said they would like to see us closer,” said Saxton Group co-CEO, Adam Saxton.

“With this new location, we look forward to being able to service the Fort Hood and Copperas Cove communities for many years to come.”

On the morning of the grand opening, the first 50 guests in line will receive a $50 McAlister’s gift card and a McAlister’s limited edition T-shirt.

The Copperas Cove Junior High School band will make an appearance the morning of the grand opening.

McAlister’s in Copperas Cove will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
