Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation will spend about $42,000 lighting the Narrows Business and Technology Park.

“They are the exact same lights that were installed on Robert Griffin III (Boulevard),” said Cove EDC Executive Director Polo Enriquez, noting the corporation will keep a look for its roadway lighting similar to the lighting Endeavor Real Estate created at the Five Hills Shopping Center.

Once completed, the park will extend Robert Griffin III Boulevard through 72 acres of land being developed to house job-creating businesses such as small manufacturers.

Oncor Electric Delivery will spend $42,000 to install 12 259-watt metal halide street lights and a 250-watt high pressure sodium street light, stated Cove EDC documents.

Because the city has already accepted Five Hills street lighting, the corporation shouldn’t have any problem turning over the lighting to the city once it is installed, Enriquez said.

“(The city) is fine with it,” he said. “It is no different than what was installed with Endeavor.”
