Unity Walk

Residents take part in the Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Walk on Monday in Copperas Cove.

Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. and his civil rights efforts Monday with a nearly 1-mile walk.

The event, which included about 65 people marching down Farm-to-Market 116 from First Step Child Care Center to the church, was the 15th annual walk held in Copperas Cove to honor the slain civil rights leader.

King is known for participating in walks and organizing similar events during the civil rights movement.
