The city of Copperas Cove installed a new weather station at the Cove Fire Department.

The station will broadcast minute temperature, wind direction and speed, rainfall and barometer readings to a website that is open to the public. The information also can be accessed on any smartphone and users can download the free “weather link mobile” application to view up to the minute information.

The project is part of the city’s emergency management team which encourages residents to monitor weather trends and take any necessary precautions in severe weather.
