Police to carry torch for Special Olympics

The Copperas Cove Police Department will participate in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Day for Special Olympics Texas on Tuesday in support of the Central Texas Law Enforcement Torch Run Team.

Police officers will gather at 9 a.m. in the front parking lot of the police department at 302 E. Avenue E.

They will then embark on a two-mile run throughout the streets of Copperas Cove carrying the torch.

Residents are invited to line the streets of the run route and encourage the officers.

The run route will be from East Avenue E to South Second Street to Avenue F to South First Street to Meggs Street to South Fifth Street to Veterans Avenue to Lyons Street to South Main Street and back to the police department.
