An all-women’s duathlon drew 80 participants to South Park Sunday for three miles of running and 10 miles of cycling.

The event was a training race for the Tough Cookie triathlon group, said Tzatzil Lemair, the race’s director.

Women competing in the event ran 1.5 miles through the park, then cycled 10 miles down South Farm-to-Market 116 and the ran another 1.5-mile loop.

Tough Cookie holds races throughout the year in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio and donates all proceeds to charity. This year, funds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Lone Star Chapter.

Lemair started Tough Cookie Fitness in 2002 to reach out to other women who feel like they don’t have time to focus on their fitness.
