GATESVILLE — AARP will sponsor a safe driving class at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Gatesville Masonic Lodge, 2544 E. Main Street.

“The class is aimed at seniors age 60 and over, but anyone who wants to come is welcome,” said Bill Herridge, volunteer instructor.

The class will include “listening to me talk and watching videos for four hours,” Herridge said, with no driving involved.

AARP members will pay $12 for the four-hour class, and non-members will pay $14. The class will take a maximum of 35 participants on a first-come-first-served basis, Herridge said.

There is no final exam, he said, and participants who complete the class will receive certificates good for 10 percent discounts on their auto insurance.

“This class cannot be used to forgive a speeding ticket,” Herridge said. For more information, call Herridge at (254) 865-5921.
