Artists will have a chance to display their creations during the Five Hills Art Festival on March 16-17 in Copperas Cove.

The theme of the event is recycling, and it’s called GO GREEN!

The GO GREEN! theme is appropriate, given the festival takes place on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The Five Hills Art Guild is sponsoring the event, which is in its third year. Artists are being encouraged to rent a 10-foot-by-10-foot space for $50.

“We are looking for painters, sculptors, textile artists, print makers, jewelers and others. The festival is for artists and craftsman,” said Linda LaPierre, treasurer of the Five Hills Art Guild.

Artists from across Texas have been part of the festival over the past two years, according to LaPierre.

The limit of 50 vendors for the festival is about half filled, LaPierre said, “and we need more.”

GO GREEN! will be free to the public and will be held at City Park. In addition to the artists, there will be food, music, dancers and more.

The Five Hills Art Guild was founded in 2014 and has 34 members, LaPierre said. “Our goal is to bring the art scene to Copperas Cove.”
