Each year the Copperas Cove Bass Club gives back to the community because the membership realizes how blessed they are. In turn, the members like to help those in need with a little helpful donation..

This year, the membership voted to give three Thanksgiving dinners to three needy families in the Cove. After some discussion, the club decided to donate to three families in the Cove House Emergency Homeless Shelter.

Brian Hawkins, the executive director of the Cove House, met with the members to determine the families who would receive the meals. Hawkins said the three families picked were the ones most in need of support and caring.

The club had the three meals including all the trimmings prepared by Little Tex’ Restaurant.

The morning before Thanksgiving, Bob Bingle, club president; Jack Johnson, club secretary; and Rick Counter, club member, linked up at Little Tex’ to pick up the meals and deliver them to Cove House. The families repeatedly thanked the members for their generosity.
