EDC board of directors

The city is accepting applications to fill a position on the Economic Development Corporation board of directors. The purpose of the City Council-appointed board is to direct and coordinate the broad-based expansion of the city’s business tax base and to promote sustainable job growth, thereby continuously enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The board consists of five members, appointed to three-year terms. It meets monthly on the third Thursday.

Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Board of Adjustment

The city is accepting applications to fill positions on the board of adjustment. The City Council-appointed advisory body is a quasi-judicial board that serves as an appeal body for individuals seeking variances to the zoning ordinance or to a decision made by an administrative official enforcing the ordinance.

The board consists of five members, appointed to two-year terms, and meets monthly on the second Thursday.

The position vacancies will be advertised through June 4. Completed applications must be submitted to the office of the city secretary by 5 p.m. June 14.

Planning and Zoning Commission

The city is accepting applications to fill positions on the Planning and Zoning Commission. The purpose of the City Council-appointed advisory body is to review and consider submitted site plans and plats, as well as make recommendations to the council on zoning ordinance amendments, comprehensive plan amendments, specific use permits and rezoning requests.

The commission consists of seven members, appointed to three-year terms, and meets monthly on the fourth Monday.

The position vacancies will be advertised through June 4. Completed applications must be submitted to the office of the city secretary by 5 p.m. June 14.

Quality of Life Advisory Board

The city is accepting applications to fill positions on the Quality of Life Advisory Board. The purpose of the City Council-appointed advisory body is to act in an advisory capacity to the council with advice and recommendations on policies, rules, programs and regulations relating the administration of the public park and recreation facilities to include the city golf course.

The board provides advisory oversight of public playgrounds, athletic fields, walking trails, recreation centers/facilities, golf course and other facilities and activities on any of the properties owned or controlled by the city.

The advisory body consists of eight members and three alternate members, appointed to staggered terms consisting of one and two-year terms. The board meets monthly on the fourth Thursday.

The position vacancies will be advertised through June 11. Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. June 21.
