Several residents said they’ve been waiting for spring to begin garage-sale hunting, and the biggest sale will be the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce 2014 Ambassadors Citywide Garage Sale on Saturday at 8 a.m. in the downtown area near Avenue E and Main Street.

The sale is a place where people can come to one central place instead of going to 40 houses and making 40 stops, said Betty Price, president of the city’s chamber of commerce.

“It’s a great opportunity for buyer and seller if you think about it,” she said. “It’s unique because 20 to 40 vendors get to sell their things and they have a host of people who will visit their booth to see what they have. If you live outside city limits, this makes it easier instead of a home-garage sale.”

There will be food vendors as well, at the second annual event, Price said.

“Anything from Scentsy candles to collectable jewelry and antiques will be on sale,” she said. “It’s bad for me but I love it. It’s a treasure hunt and every year I always find something I just can’t live without.”

Rain out day will be April 12. For more details go to
