United Faith Church to honor bishop

The United Faith Church family will honor Bishop Clarence and Lady Louis Drummond for 25 years of ministry and 42 years of marriage during the Founder’s Day celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.

The guest speaker on Saturday will be Pastor Lawrence Window, Powerhouse Ministry of Light of Killeen, and evangelist Vernell Galbreath, Grace Temple Ministries of Temple, on Sunday.

VFW Post 8577 to honor teachers

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8577 and the Ladies Auxiliary announce a Teachers Award Contest.

Teachers who promote civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism are candidates for this award.

Nominations can be submitted by fellow teachers, supervisors or other interested individuals (not relatives).

Boys & Girls Club sponsors Day for Kids

The Boys & Girls Club of Copperas Cove is sponsoring the 13th annual Day for Kids from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Copperas Cove City Park.

The first 200 children to attend will receive T-shirts.

Activities will include face painting, arts and crafts, dance demonstrations, inflatables and lunch for all. The event is free.

GymKix offers free instruction Saturday

The GymKix Royals and Top Gunz will introduce youngsters to gymnastics Saturday in observance of National Gymnastics Day.

Games, contests, prizes and discounts will be offered.

Free instruction will be provided to the following age groups: 5 years and younger from 2 to 2:45 p.m., 6-8 years old from 3 to 3:45 p.m. and 9-12 years from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Call 254-542-2600.
