Cooties slate summer Christmas party

Oncor upgrades electric lines, facilities
The City of Copperas Cove was notified by Oncor that over the next three to five months, Oncor will be working on upgrading electric lines and facilities in Copperas Cove. The project includes setting new poles, replacing existing transformers and electric lines. The work will be performed in the central area of town, including several streets off Veterans Avenue, Main Street and Urbantke Lane. Call Oncor at (254) 554-2262 for more information.
Shelter hosting pancake breakfast
The Copperas Cove homeless shelter will host a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s in Copperas Cove from 8 to 10 a.m. July 20. Cost is $8 per person, and breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice. Come by the Cove House at 108 East Halstead Avenue, Copperas Cove, for your ticket.
Walk to benefit Living Sanctuary
This walk will benefit Living Sanctuary to contribute resources to local food and service distribution in Copperas Cove. Twenty-five percent of the walk benefit funds will be donated to Enactus. Sponsor a participate or donate $10 for every mile or $5 for every half mile walked. For more information, go to www.alivingsanctuary.org.
Baptist church holds God, country service
The Robertson Avenue Baptist Church is holding a God and Country service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The service will be in honor of our soldiers, firefighters, policemen, EMS personnel, county and city officials. A lunch will be provided after the service. Men’s communitywide prayer breakfast
There will be a men’s communitywide prayer breakfast Saturday at Hillside Ministries, 2602 S Farm-to-Market 116, Copperas Cove. The breakfast, prepared by men of the church, will be served at 7:30 a.m. and the prayer points will begin at 8 a.m. All men and their boys are invited to come and participate in making a prayerful difference.
