Crime of the Week

The Copperas Cove Police Department is investigating the theft of a charity donation jar that occurred Tuesday. The police department released this photo of the alleged crime.

Nov. 19

  • William Martin Greene was arrested on a charge of theft in the 2700 block of East U.S. Highway 190. Stolen and recovered were paint, hanging kit and miscellaneous items, total value $19.
  • A home was burglarized in the 200 block of Teinert Avenue. There was no damage but two shotguns, jewelry and miscellaneous items were reportedly stolen, total value $7,330.
  • A theft was reported in the 2700 block of East U.S. Highway 190. Three video game controllers were reportedly stolen, total value $180.
  • A theft was reported in the 500 block of East U.S. Highway 190. Vehicle parts were reportedly stolen, total value $4,475.
  • Gary Joseph Lanza was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 600 block of West Avenue A.
  • A theft was reported in the 500 block of Allen Street. A radial arm saw was reportedly stolen, total value $400.
  • A home was burglarized in the 100 block of North Drive. Furniture and a television were damaged and sewing equipment, clothing press, a television, a tent, candy machine, camera, tablet and miscellaneous electronics were reportedly stolen, total value $7,144.

Nov. 18

  • Vaealuga Popese was arrested on a charge of being drunk in public in the 1900 block of Pleasant Lane.
  • Edward Charles Herman was arrested on charges of parole violation and evading arrest with a vehicle in the 100 block of West Avenue F.
  • A theft was reported in the 90 block of Cove Terrace. A cellphone, valued at $500, was reportedly stolen.
  • Jose Antonio Moreno was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug in the 500 block of South 11th Street.
  • A theft was reported in the 200 block of Town Square. A cellphone, valued at $150, was reportedly stolen.
  • Fraudulent use or possession of identifying information was reported in the 3000 block of Carroll Drive.
  • Misty Dawn Davis was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in the 700 block of West Avenue E.
  • A theft was reported in the 500 block of North First Street. Cash, in the amount of $60, was reportedly stolen.
  • Matthew Marion Chadwick was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated in the 1500 block of East U.S. Highway 190.

Nov. 17

  • A theft was reported in the 1700 block of Walker Place Boulevard. A vehicle, valued at $5,000, was reportedly stolen.
  • A theft was reported in the 500 block of Highway Avenue. Two air conditioning units, valued at $4,500, were reportedly stolen.
  • A theft was reported in the 600 block of Sunset Lane. A bicycle, valued at $119, was reportedly stolen.

Nov. 16

  • Mark Damon Taylor was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, second offense, in the 600 block of Morris Drive.
  • Bryant Matthew Mitchell was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated in the 300 block of Erby Avenue.
  • A home was burglarized in the 1100 block of South 23rd Street. A window and screen were damaged but nothing was stolen, total value $650.
  • Larry Donnell Swanson and Andre Lawrence Zeigler were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana in the 1300 block of Bluffdale Street.
  • Lisa Sanders Stadleman was arrested on a theft warrant in the 400 block of West U.S. Highway 190.
  • Marcus Richard Stadleman was arrested on charges of being a fugitive from justice, failure to appear, failure to report to probation office and obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check in the 400 block of West U.S. Highway 190.
  • Theft of service was reported in the 2500 block of East U.S. Highway 190. Food, valued at $23.97, was reportedly stolen.

Nov. 15

  • Frank Scott Hedges was arrested on charges of theft of a firearm, burglary of a habitation and possession of a firearm by a felon in the 2100 block of East U.S. Highway 190.
  • Forgery of a financial instrument was reported at the Copperas Cove Police Station.
  • A home was burglarized in the 500 block of North First Street. A window was damaged but nothing was stolen, total value $100.
  • A home was burglarized in the 1300 block of West Avenue D. Windows and window screens were damaged and two firearms, an X-Box and a tire were reported stolen, total value $1,130.
  • Joshua James Mantanona was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana in the 600 block of West Avenue D.

Nov. 14

  • Vicente Luzama Ada was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in the 2000 block of Urbantke Lane.
  • A theft was reported in the 90 block of Cove Terrace. Cash, in the amount of $400, was reportedly stolen.
  • A home was burglarized in the 800 block of Rodney Avenue. A door frame was damaged and two game consoles were reportedly stolen, total value $600.
  • A home was burglarized in the 400 block of West Washington Avenue. There was no damage but two game consoles, six game controllers and a television were reportedly stolen, total value $2,000.

Nov. 13

  • A building was burglarized in the 2600 block of East U.S. Highway 190. A garage door and window were damaged but nothing was reported stolen, total value $200.
  • David Thomas Sorensen was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, second warrant, in the 100 block of West Avenue F.
  • A home was burglarized in the 2200 block of Keenan Avenue. There was no damage but a laptop and miscellaneous jewelry was reportedly stolen, total value $425.
  • A building was burglarized and .375 caliber rifle bullets were reportedly found in the 1100 block of South Ninth Street. A glass door was damaged but nothing was reported stolen, total value $100.
  • Britne Faith King was arrested on a charge of theft in the 2700 block of East U.S. Highway 190. Stolen and recovered were cosmetics, vitamins and clothing, total value $83.
  • Jacqueese James McKinney was arrested on charges of evading arrest or detention, being drunk in public and criminal mischief in the 2400 block of Joseph Drive. A table and chair were reportedly damaged, total value $40.
