This week’s events at the Copperas Cove library will begin with a monthly gaming session on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many fantasy table-top games such as Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder will be featured.

“I enjoy coming to the Gaming Session. It gives me an opportunity to enjoy my favorite games and meet new people,” said Travis Ambrose, a 10th-grader at Copperas Cove High School.

Saturday’s event is for ages 10 and older.

Spring break for Copperas Cove and Killeen independent school districts will be from Monday to March 16. There will be no Toddler Time at the library next week. Toddler Week will resume March 18 at 10 a.m.

However, one of many ongoing features local patrons and residents can enjoy during spring break is the e-books selection through the library’s website.

“We licensed a wide variety of e-books through a project called OverDrive. You can log onto the library’s website and look through the materials and catalogs that we have available,” said Kevin Marsh, the Cove library director. “Or you can go straight to the OverDrive’s site and see the subscriber selections we have there, as well.”

E-books are free to download for all registered Copperas Cove library cardholders.

To become a cardholder, stop by the library.

On Thursday, the library’s monthly Teen Book Club will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Pizza and soda will be provided by Domino’s Pizza, which is sponsoring the event. Teens will pick this month’s book genre.

“We don’t just discuss literature that teens are interested in but also movie titles and comic books,” Marsh said. “After meetings, we also do gaming on our Wii console, which is attached to our projection screen. It’s actually fun.”

In addition to the teens’ monthly book club, adults and other “literature buffs” also can participate in a monthly book club.

This month’s book is “The Widow’s War’” by Sally Gunning.

The next meeting is from noon to 1 p.m. March 19.
